About This Experience
Vodka is Poland’s most famous spirit, and there’s no better way to get to know it than a vodka tasting tour in Krakow that takes you straight into the Old Town’s most characterful bars — the ones you’d probably never find wandering on your own. Expect stories, laughs, and a fair few flavours you didn’t know vodka could come in.
A Vodka Tasting Tour in Krakow Through the Old Town
The evening moves through a handful of bars scattered around the Old Town, each one chosen for character rather than convenience. Along the way you’ll work through a full range of vodka, from smooth classics to more unexpected infusions — salted caramel, peppercorn, cherry, and other traditional flavours most visitors never get the chance to try. It’s less a tasting menu and more a real crawl through Krakow’s vodka culture, one bar at a time, with your host steering the group between stops so nobody’s left working out where to go next.
Where It Starts
Our regular meeting venue is Ivy Cocktail Bar, right in the heart of Krakow’s Old Town, about a minute’s walk from the Main Square. Occasionally we start somewhere else instead, always still close to the Main Square — if that’s the case for your date, your guide will get in touch the day before to confirm the exact spot, so there’s nothing to figure out on the night.
What’s Included
The evening opens with a spread of Polish-style tapas, a relaxed way to meet the rest of the group before the first tasting even starts. From there, your guided vodka tasting continues through a selection of quality Polish vodkas and traditional Polish snacks along the way, all led by an experienced host who knows the bars, the stories, and which flavour to save for later.
Stories Behind the Spirit
This isn’t just about drinking your way through Krakow’s Old Town — as you go, you’ll hear about Poland’s vodka heritage, the folklore and traditions built up around it, and the part it’s played throughout the country’s history. It’s the kind of detail that turns a night of tasting into something you’ll actually remember the next morning, along with the vodka itself. Your host will happily go deeper on any of it if a particular story catches your interest.
Who It’s Good For
This suits groups who want a fun, sociable night out, solo travellers happy to meet other people over the first round of tapas, and anyone who wants to see a side of Krakow’s Old Town that doesn’t show up on a normal night out. It also works well as a first-night icebreaker if you’ve just arrived in the city and want to meet people before exploring further on your own. If you’re spending the day sightseeing beforehand, our Private Golf Buggy Tour is a relaxed way to cover the Old Town, Kazimierz and Podgorze before the evening gets going.
What to Expect
The night starts with tapas and introductions, then moves between a handful of characterful bars for tastings as you go. Partway through, the group stops at a traditional Polish restaurant for freshly made pierogi before continuing on to more tastings. This vodka tasting tour in Krakow finishes with a cherry vodka, a group photo, and plenty of laughs to send everyone off.
Booking Your Vodka Tasting Tour in Krakow
The tour runs for around three hours, starting from Ivy Cocktail Bar or a nearby alternative venue confirmed the day before. Given the format includes several stops and quality Polish spirits throughout, this experience is best suited to guests aged 18 and over. We’d recommend booking a few days ahead, particularly for weekend evenings, since groups are kept small enough to stay sociable.
